State Of The Art Manufacturing Facilities

GHCL Chemicals Division

GHCL – One of India’s Largest Manufacturers of Soda Ash Light, Soda Ash Dense and Sodium Bicarbonate (Technical, Animal Feed & Food grade).

GHCL’s Soda ash manufacturing facility located at Sutrapada, Gujarat, is one of India’s leading producers of Soda Ash (Anhydrous Sodium Carbonate) and has an annual production capacity of 1.2 Million Tonnes per annum. It contributes to almost 25% of the country’s annual domestic demand. It has a clear competitive advantage due to its captive raw material sources. Its lignite mines located at Khadsaliya in the Bhavnagar district of Gujarat supply the raw material needed for the production of Soda ash.

Limestone mines at Sutrapada,Veraval and Talala Taluka of Gir-Somnath district have an average production 45 MT to 500 MT per day of chemical grade limestone.

GHCL Soda Ash is available in 2 categories-Light Soda Ash, Dense Soda Ash. It also produces Sodium Bicarbonate and these products are marketed in India under the brand name ‘LION’.

Khadsaliya Lignite Mines

Khadsaliya lignite mines is the first private lignite mine in a Gujarat state having the leasehold area of 171.0 hectare. We started the captive lignite mine in year 2004, for our own captive power plant for soda ash plant at Sutrapada. We proudly share that were shortlisted for prestigious national safety award of the mine for the year 2015.

Limestone Mines

GHCL Ltd. has captive Limestone mines at Sutrapada,Veraval and Talala Taluka of Gir-Somnath district. The mines produce an average of 45 MT to 500 MT per day of chemical grade limestone using the Semi – Mechanised method of mining.

Once a particular area is exhausted, it is partially backfilled and used for plantation or converted into agricultural land. This is an ongoing activity and almost 385 hectares of land has been reclaimed and is being used for agriculture, 55 hectares has already been converted into ponds for water storage and close to 17000 trees have been planted here.
